Dear Georgina and Eleonora,
I am so excited to share with you my performance which will commence online this Saturday, March 20 (12PM LA/ 3PM Philly/ 19:00 London / 23:00 Dubai/ 3:00 Taipei). Even in our short period of connection on instagram (and Ele also at Lyra’s listening gathering) you have become special to me through the Ela and Javier. I am a performance artist and dancer by nature, and moved to Berlin to develop practice. While being here I have opened myself up to creating installations through physical sculptures and visuals…since lock down began I stopped working at TRAUMA bar and moved to Amsterdam, which centered myself back into a more focused creative being. I began to connect all of my practices and fantasies, as well as myself as a black-trans, non-binary soul. I came back to Berlin and realized I had something inside of me to share…my sense of urgency to share love and care, so that people people like myself can have an outlet from the distraction, think for them self, and realize their capability to shape their own future even current outlook on the world we co-exist in.
This show is my way of sharing my heart creatively with the people who need that love and care…and hopefully it brings them a smile, a laugh, comfort or feeling to be even a little vulnerable and take a chance on them selves (regardless of what the outside world says or has said).
I would like to invite you to see the show...as an introduction to me as an artist in a light outside of instagram and as a creative conversation I hope we can engage in. This show focuses on light, however my work confronts both the light in life and the dark…with what I have experienced in the world these past years, I prefer to put more light into the eyes of the audience…with an awareness of the dark not a denial or neglect.
